The College has secured funding for the design, installation, and commissioning of the Peavine Campus
Replacement “PCR” that has been modelled, conceptually designed, and is required to achieve Net Zero
Energy Usage for the proposed campus replacement.
The total design, procurement, and construction budget for the Peavine Campus Replacement is
approximately $2.65 million dollars.
Northern Lakes College has issued this Request for Proposal for the Architecture, Design, Engineering,
Contract Administration, and Commissioning for a Peavine Campus Replacement that achieves Net Zero
Energy Usage for the proposed campus replacement.
Northern Lakes College is inviting firms with demonstrated experience completing commercial Net Zero,
sustainable LEED Silver Standard projects in Post-Secondary institution buildings, and that are licensed to
practice in the Province of Alberta to respond to this Request for Proposal (RFP) for Prime and Coordinating
Sub-consultant Services.
The proposed team should be led by a Prime Consultant, with significant technical expertise and project
leadership successfully planning, designing, and executing Net Zero building projects including; Solar PV
Systems, Architecture/Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical/Geothermal Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, and Structural Engineering.
The College is seeking the following disciplines which may be required to successfully complete this
project:
Architectural/Design
Net Zero Assessment/Energy Modelling
Building Code and Permitting
Mechanical/Geothermal System Design and Specifications
Electrical/Solar PV Systems Design and Specifications
Civil
Structural
The project is to be designed using Building Information Modelling “BIM” LOD 100 (at a minimum) and
constructed to LEED Silver Standards. As such, the successful Proponent shall provide services to monitor
the design and construction according to plans and specifications, and ensure that LEED Silver Standards
shall be achieved and maintained. The LEED Silver standard build does NOT have to be certified BUT the
scoresheet of standards must be documented for the owner. The Proponent will also be required to
function as the BIM model manager in Revit.
The College has provided the NLC Spoke Core Building Template Drawings completed in 2019 for A/S/E/M.
The intent of the template drawings is to utilize them as the starting point, and update the AutoCAD
A/M/E/S drawings as required to complete the work contemplated in this RFP and achieve Net Zero
performance. (AutoCAD drawings will be available to the successful Proponent).
